“Severe stress makes women age prematurely because stress causes the DNA in our cells to shrink until they can no longer replicate. So when we’re stressed we look haggard. This is just women not men.”
~Amanda (played by Cameron Diaz), The Holiday (2006)
Struggling with finances to make ends meet for Rory and me is difficult to say the least, but dealing with government agencies makes everything ten times worse. My court date with Christopher for temporary support isn’t until September 9th… can you believe that? What exactly are we supposed to do until then. Apparently, money does not constitute an emergency for a speedier court appearance.
Wednesday morning is my next step in the process of getting SSI for Rory. Hopefully that meeting will help Rory with her needs, and qualify her for further medical assistance–medications need to be paid for some how. Okay, enough griping…
On to things that make me happier!
Luke and I watched an old movie one night last week. We had a blast and were laughing so hard. Have any of you ever seen…
It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World…what a cast! This ensemble cast, featuring Spencer Tracy, Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Buddy Hackett, Ethel Merman, Mickey Rooney, and more, is a riot. The madcap adventure race to find hidden treasure was taglined as, “It’s The Biggest Entertainment Ever To Rock The Screen With Laughter!”
As Luke and I watched this movie, we got to wondering– With all of the remakes coming out of Hollywood these days, what stars would they cast in this film today? I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on this idea. Who knows, maybe some big-time Hollywood producer will see my little blog post and think it’s a great idea… Tee Hee!
Thanks to all of you who checked out the Link Parties / Blog Hops over the weekend. We had a great time be-bopping around the blogosphere.
…
I’ve never seen that movie (though that could be said for at least 99% of movies ever made!) I’m sorry you’re having such issues, dealing with the government tends to be like that, unless THEY want YOUR money lol! You will make it through!
Yes, we will, Stephanie! We are strong and have a nice little support system…God does bless.
And…you should check out that movie…your kids would love it!
That’s funny – I knew that first quote was from “The Holiday” before I even finished reading it! LOVE that movie! I’ll have to check into the other one 🙂

The Holiday is one of my all-time favorites!!! 😀
I have never seen that movie! Will have to check it out soon!
It’s hilarious! And great for the entire family. 🙂
It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World is one of my favorites! Thet don’t really make ensemble movies like that anymore do they. Sigh.
Oceans Eleven was an ensemble cast, but it wasn’t the same type of movie at all. There was just something special about the actors of that era.
