Huntington Beach Pier at Dusk (photo from The Stanfield Group Real Estate Blog)
There is no place like Huntington Beach, California, “Surf City USA”. Just look at how beautiful it is at dusk at the pier. I will be doing two Guest Blogging spots over at I Am Meg & So Can You sometime between mid September and mid October. One spot will feature my home town and Orange County in general. the other post be will birthdays in Switzerland and Germany. I am excited about these posts, and hope that you will join in reading the series Around the World with I Am Meg.
Another fun thing happened this week for Huntington Beach. Gordon Ramsay‘s show Master Chef, aired an episode this week that was filmed here back in March of 2013. The show featured a challenge on the beach where the competing chefs had to make fish tacos for 101 surfers. There is some beautiful footage of Huntington Beach. Check it out…

This looks like a beautiful beach! Maybe that’s where I should come to learn how to surf π
Huntington Beach is gorgeous! And it didn’t get the nickname, “Surf City USA” for nothing! π
Looks like a lovely place to live, thanks for sharing some of that beauty with us =)
I love HB… and it is beautiful. π Thanks for stopping by, Stephanie.
That’s pretty exciting that Gordan Ramsay’s show was there!
I love his shows! π
How cool is that? I saw and loved the fish taco episode. Last night I watched an episode of Hell’s Kitchen – becoming addicted to Ramsey – lol. Sounds like you are going to have some kinda fabulous birthday. I’ll be back. Cheers
I watched Hell’s Kitchen last night too! I love Mary, and she really sparkled last night.. π
The birthdays are from the past, but I will be blogging about them for the guest blog spot. Glad you stopped by. I’m looking forward to see more of you.
Loved the fish taco episode! Have become addicted Ramsey – can’t wait to see the follow-up to last night’s Hell’s Kitchen. Looks like you have an amazing b-day coming up. Like Arnold I’ll be back. Cheers.
My hometown is named Huntington, but it’s in NY π But it’s also near the water, and I love beautiful locations like this! Looking forward to your Around the World posts π
Aww…a Huntington kin on the east coast. You are doing a guest blog spot as well, right? It does seem like it is going to be a lot of fun! π
My son and his new bride honeymooned in Huntington Beach. They said it was amazing!
Really??? I’m so glad they enjoyed it. there is lots to do around here, or it can just be a beautiful place to relax… π
Can’t wait to read about Switzerland and Germany. I want to see lots of pictures. I didn’t get to see the show but I’m sure they had fun filming in Cali. π
A day at the beach in March…and it was gorgeous out ! Yeah, I think the had a great time. π I’m looking forward to the travel posts.
Wow how gorgeous! I’ve never been to Cali!
It’s a beautiful place…and that show was filmed in early March… π
I can’t believe it has been 8 years since I crossed the Orange curtain and moved to SW Riverside County. I miss it in the summer time when it is 100 degrees plus here. But I don’t miss the needing two incomes to afford a house in a decent place to live (as I am sure you well understand).
Ah yes, the Orange Curtain… LOL… it can be expensive to live here. Thank goodness I live in the house I grew up in.
My husband is a surfer and I am guessing that Huntington Beach will be a definite visit next time we come to USA
He will love it! You should definitely make it a stop-over! π
So, so beautiful! Though I don’t surf, I love being by the water. I find it so relaxing and its always a beautiful view to look at…during the day or night. Thanks so sharing this beautiful place.
I love being by the beach…the sound of the waves crashing, the salty sea air… it’s all very relaxing and soothing.
Will Do!! For Sure!!
Thanks for stopping by, Chez. π
Looks like a beautiful spot. Now wonder there are songs about “Surf City”. I am addicted to cooking shows, and books etc. Didn’t know that filming for GR was done there. Cool!
Surf City is amazing. π I love cooking shows too, and Los Angeles is only about an hour away, so Hollywood films here in our area quite often.
